Workers have once again been forced to join a proud but sadly necessary tradition of industrial action dating back to the 17th century. Today we are faced with a government unwilling to raise public sector wages despite high inflation and a cost of living crisis. It is unacceptable that key workers in full time employment are using food banks.
We also recognise the efforts of Marcus Rashford on this mug - a different kind of striker who demanded action after Conservative MP's voted against a motion to provide free school meals to disadvantaged children. His actions have not only raised awareness of child poverty but have resulted in over a million vulnerable children being fed.

Laura Kesseler is a Brummie in Bristol. She is a multidisciplinary artist who has worked as a prop maker, SFX make-up artist, puppet designer, jewellery designer and cake maker, amongst other things. A jack of all trades and a master of some!
